Three numbers get you there

Hand, flex and curve narrow the whole wall to the sticks you can actually play. If you already own a stick you like, match its numbers.

Hand

If you do not know your numbers

Weight gets you a flex, height gets you a length, and curve is preference. Each answer ends on sticks you can buy.

What flex?

The usual starting point is about half your body weight. Cutting a stick down stiffens it, so if you play it short, size down.

Try 80 – 90 flex Shop this flex

What length?

Standing in shoes, the butt-end should land between your chin and your nose. Our heights are measured floor to butt-end, so you can compare against a stick you already own.

Stick 58 – 62 inches Shop this length

Guidance, not gospel. Plenty of players run well outside these numbers. Unsure? Ask us, we handle these sticks every day.

At rest

Flex is not a marketing number. It is the pounds of force that bend a shaft one inch, supported at both ends and pressed in the middle. This one is an 87.

Push a carbon shaft past what it was built for and it does not bend further. It lets go, at the point carrying the most load.

This is where most sticks end. A three hundred dollar shaft, in two pieces, in the garage.

Or it comes to the shop. The break is rebuilt with new carbon, and a properly repaired shaft is reinforced at the repair, typically stronger at that point than the original.

Most repairs cost a fraction of a replacement, and we will tell you if a stick is not worth repairing rather than take the work.

Carbon does not fail at a fixed number. The loads above belong to this demonstration, not to a test result.

Questions

What does pro stock actually mean?

Pro stock sticks are built for professional players rather than retail, often with different layups, curves, or flex profiles than the version you can buy in a store. Because they come from team stock, each one is a single item. When it sells, it is gone.

How do I know what flex and curve I need?

If you already play a retail stick, match its flex and curve. Our listings use the same codes (P28, P92, P90TM and so on). Height is measured from the floor to the butt-end, so you can compare against a stick you own.

Is a repaired stick as strong as a new one?

A properly repaired carbon shaft is reinforced at the repair, so it is typically stronger at that point than the original. We will tell you if a stick is not worth repairing rather than take the work.

Do you ship across Canada?

Yes, for both sales and repairs. You can also visit the shop in London, Ontario.

Why is nothing sold out on the site?

Because every stick is a single item, a sold one is no longer something you can buy. Sold stock leaves the collections rather than sitting in the grid, so what you are looking at is what is on the wall.

The rooms

Counts are live. Sold stock leaves the room, so what is listed is what is on the wall.
